AICSYS Inc, "The Global Choice for Premium Industrial Computer Products” announces the release of the SBH-4218A2GNL, half-size Pentium M based SBC. Ideally suited for rugged applications in which the overall system footprint is limited, the SBH-4218A2GNL is the perfect solution. Measuring only 7” x 5” the SBH-4218A2GNL provides a PCI based solution in a small package, allowing users the ability to support PCI based add on cards in a small form factor chassis while still having the benefits of a full sized Pentium M based SBC. One of the most widely used Pentium-M based chipsets the i915GM offers platform stability as it is listed on the Embedded Roadmap at Intel, users are able to specify the SBH-4218A2GNL for long term projects and feel secure in the availability of the chipset.
When designing the SBH-4218A2GNL, the engineers at AICSYS were faced with the challenge of how to take full advantage of the i915GM chipset and still keep a small foot print for the board. The SBH-4218A2GNL manages to do just that, and is designed to support Pentium M/CeleronM CPU’s with 400MHz & 533 MHz FSB, and has system memory expandable to 2GB. On-board features include:
- Dual GbE Controller (Marvell E8053)
- (3) RS-232 ports & (1) RS-232/422/485 selectable
- (2) USB 2.0
- (8) Channel Digital I/O
- Compact Flash Socket
- Audio (AC97, integrated into the ICH6M)
For video support the SBH-4218A2GNL draws from the integrated video features of the i915G, with its GMA900 Graphics controller, which supports up to 128MB per frame buffer of shared system memory. In addition to the integrated GMA900, the SBH-4218A2GNL also has a DVI connector as well 24-pin LVDS interface.
